First Time for Everything

Wassup guys?! A couple days during this past week were pretty good and I wanna share with you how great they were. So let us start off with Saturday June 22, 2019... It was race day in Haleiwa and that day was too dang long! Good thing the beach was cleaner than Ke'ehi  so we could at least swim. My crew and I didn't place anywhere high up there but still overall a great day of racing. I also got to play a game of volleyball which I hadn't played in like 5EVER so that was like super fun for me. The downside to that was the ugly tan I got from my sports bra and yoga pants due to playing in the sun for so long. I kid you not, I have a sock-looking tan that cuts off mid calf and its just so ugly; I don't even wanna wear shorts :( Despite the ugly tan and sunburn, I got to get a Blue Majik bowl from Haleiwa Bowls and that made everything feel better. btw, 10/10 recommend Haleiwa bowls. Their fruits are fresh and the acai bowls are just packed with it!  Okay lemme just ...

I usually write about my #paddlingjourney on my IG but this is where it'll continue from now on :) The last time I documented about my paddling journey I was on Day 5 and I was talking about how I actually felt our boat gliding on the water for the first time ever! it was amazing! Since that day I have had 2 races! First race was at Ke'ehi Lagoon and I was not prepared lol I thought I was just paddling a quarter mile but found out I was paddling the half mile instead with a crew who was much more advanced than me (this is my first time paddling ever lol I don't think Kamehameha summer camps count)! I was so nervous! Im not sure what we placed but it was still amazing! The thrill of racing, being in sync with everyone and then fighting the wind on our way back to the finish line was something that I loved! My second race was at Lanikai Beach in Kailua and the conditions were much different from Ke'ehi. Instead of dealing with the wind coming down from the valley in ...

Sorry for that long intermission lol!!

So this past week has actually been really hectic because I just finished my research project for my Data Science SPICE internship at Chaminade University! I was beyond surprised at how much I, as well as my fellow colleagues, had accomplished over the past 4 weeks. We came in to this program knowing absolutely nothing about data science but with the help of the wonderful UT-Austin staff as well as some grit, we were able to pull through. One thing that stuck with me throughout the program was knowing that, you will never have enough data because there will always be more data out there; you will never be done with your research. I hated research but this program made me hate it even more LOL jk! I endured the challenge and loved the outcome of it! So here is a picture of me that I took last week to celebrate the end of a great 4 weeks of research and new opportunities! P.S.- yes that is me up there on the flag :)

Hi there again! Yesterday I made the choice to Hike Koko Head right before my 9am class.. I got to class at 11:30am lol its no biggie tho #NORAGRETS Anyways, this hike is the first of my many adventures that I plan to document this summer. Let me just say that Koko Head is not as intimidating as you think and the more you go, the better it gets. So the whole purpose of me blogging my adventures is to remind myself that its important to stay active and also super vital to make time to do things that make you happy.                                             So here's a picture of me before we started the hike:                   During the hike: and After: I just wanted to point out that in all three pics there was no pouting or frowning to be found; just smiles and that's how it should be. Self care is s...
